P-Coumaric acid is a hydroxycinnamic acid, an organic compound that is a hydroxy derivative of cinnamic acid. There are three isomers of coumaric acid-o-coumaric acid, m-coumaric acid, and p-coumaric acid-that differ by the position of the hydroxy substitution of the phenyl group. p-Coumaric acid is the most abundant isomer of the three in nature. p-Coumaric acid exists in two forms trans-p-coumaric acid and cis-p-coumaric acid.

1.P-Coumaric Acid has the effect of lowering blood fat.
2.P-Coumaric Acid Staphylococcus aureus, Dysentery bacillus, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa all had different degree of inhibition.
4-Hydroxycoumarin is an intermediate of the anticoagulant rodenticide Shafarin, Rodent ether, Bromolone, Bromofaxine, Ratdex, Flufafarin, Thiafarin, Keshuling, etc. It is also possible to prepare anticoagulant drugs such as dicoumarin ethyl ester and ketobenzylcoumarin in medicine.
Used as an intermediate in medicine and perfume industry.
