Acacetin has sedative and anti-cancer effects.
Used for content determination/identification/pharmacological experiments, etc. Pharmacological effects: the effect of soothing depression, regulating qi, soothing the nerves, and activating collaterals.
Acacetin (5,7-Dihydroxy-4'-methoxyflavone) is an orally available flavonoid from Tephroseris kirilowii (Turcz.) Holub. Acacetin stops in the ATP-binding pocket of PI3Kγ. Acacetin causes cancer cell cycle arrest and induces apoptosis and autophagy. Acacetin has potent anticancer and anti-inflammatory activities and has potential for pain-related disease research.
Acacetin is an O-methylated flavone found in Flos Chrysanthemi Indici, Robinia pseudoacacia (black locust) and Turnera diffusa (damiana). The Acacetin product of is obtained from natural Flos Chrysanthemi Indici extract.
Acacetin is an acknowledged AI with obvious inhibiting effect on estrogen. In one research [1], 24 anti-aromatase constituents had been isolated from botanical Turnera diffusa (damiana). Pinocembrin and Acacetin showed the most potent aromatase inhibition with IC50 values of 10.8 and 18.7 uM, respectively. However, estrogenic activity was also observed in the extract. Pinocembrin is with EC50 values of 67uM, among the top three extracts unfortunately. Thus the best aromatase inhibitor without estrogenic effect from damiana is obviously Acacetin. Now Acacetin is already regarded as a useful ingredient in dealing with estrogen-related symptoms. With the addition of Acacetin, the gender unbalanced side effect can be reduced to the greatest
Uses: Acnecin has sedative and anti-cancer effects.
