DL-Mandelic Acid is an aromatic alpha hydroxy acid with the molecular formula C8H8O3.
It is a white crystalline solid that is soluble in water and polar organic solvents. It is a useful precursor to various drugs. Since the molecule is chiral, it exists in either of two enantiomers as well as the racemic mixture, known as paramandelic acid. Mandelic Acid is a colorless chemical, flake or powder solid, light color, slight odor. Soluble in hot water . In the pharmaceutical industry can be used for intermediate methyl benzoylformate, cefamandole, vasodilator Cyclandelate, eyedrops Hydrobenzole, cylert etc, also can be used as a preservative. Used as a chemical reagent for organic synthesis. Used as pesticide raw materials and intermediates, dye intermediates, etc.
