Alginate oligosaccharide, whose degree of polymerization is lower than 20, is an oligosaccharide consisting of α-L-guluronic acid (G) and β-D-mannuronic acid (M). Alginate oligosaccharide is made from natural seaweed with enzymatic degradation.
Alginate oligosaccharide is yellow brown powder, and water-soluble with good stability.
Alginate oligosaccharide can be applied in the belowing areas:
(1)Anti-free radical oxidation: Has great application prospect in the aspect of producing antioxidant drug.
(2)Anti-tumor activity: Alginate oligosaccharide is different from general antineoplastic agent, it is not direct effects on tumor cells, to make anti-tumor effect by improving the defense capability of the biology of tumor cells and enhancing the function of the host immune system.
